In 1862, the first two ships to be clad in iron engaged in battle just off the port of Newport News, Virginia. Now, in a historic warehouse within view of the 155-year-old battle site, Ironclad Distillery Co. is the first and only distillery operating in the city and one of only five bourbon distilleries in the state.
